Assembly of Yahvah, sabbath

      Paul’s Theology

      The Spirit of the law

      Romans 8:7

The carnal mind is not subject to the law of Elohim.    Conversely we can assume that the spiritual mind is indeed subject to and submitted to the law of Elohim.

      2 Peter 3:15,16

Why are Paul’s writings hard to understand?

His wisdom came from Elohim who is also hard to understand, especially by people who are unlearned and unstable.

Why was Paul accused of disavowing the torah?

The same reason Yahshua was accused of the same. He advocated the spirit of the law and rejected man made laws.

      Yahshua said

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of Elohim, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of Elohim, that ye may keep your own tradition.

      Paul said

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Messiah.

Colossians 2

      Paul said

20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Messiah from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

      21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Colossians 2

      YAHSHUA said

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

John 5:39,40

What offended people about Paul’s teachings?

He taught that we are not justified by the law, that the law was not adequate to save us, and his focus was on Yahshua and His spirit, which leads to obedience.

      Paul said in Romans 8:2,3

because through Messiah Yahshua the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.  For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Messiah Yahshua from the law of sin and death.

1 Cor. 3

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

      What was Paul accused of?

Acts 21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

      How did Paul respond?

Acts 26:13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

      Did Paul contradict the torah?

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets

Did Paul teach against the Torah?

      Acts 28:17

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

When the apostle Paul quoted Deut. 27, was he saying that people who attempt obedience will be cursed?     (Gal. 3:10)  Disregarding the law of Moses does not make the consequences for disobedience disappear.

Do we then make void the law through faith?   By no means: yea we establish the law.   Romans 3:31

What happens when we walk in the spirit?

We avoid the works of the flesh

Gal. 5:19 Adultery, fornication, laciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath strife, seditions, & heresies.

Why did Paul say that Yahshua was the end of the law?

Does this mean we can disregard the ten commandments?    Can we disregard Psalm 119?

      Compare these verses

Romans 10:4 For the Messiah is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth

1Tim. 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience and faith unfeigned.

      Greek -  telos (end)

      (1) termination,

      (2) fulfilment,

      (3) aim or purpose,

(Telos is the origin of the word “telescope”, etc)

Did Paul teach a new and different gospel or was he chosen to reveal ancient mysteries?

      Colossians  1:25,26

….I am made a minister, according to the stewardship which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of YHVH, even the mystery which hath been hid from the ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints.

      Colossians 1:27

To whom YHVH would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations; which is the Messiah in you, the hope of glory.

      Timothy’s faithful Grandmother

2 Tim. 1:5   When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt in thy Grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that in thee also.

      Paul’s admonition to Timothy

2 Tim. 3:14  But continue in the things which thou hast learned and been assured of, knowing of whom thou has learned them;

      All Scripture (15-16)

And that  from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Yahshua the Messiah.  All scripture is given by inspiration of YHVH, is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness.

      Thoroughly furnished (equipped)v.17

That the man of YHVH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

      Hebrews 13:8

Yahshua the Messiah the same yesterday, and today and forever.

      Future studies on Paul

Did Paul teach that the Law of Moses was contrary to us and against us?

Did Paul teach that the Torah, or some part of it was an unbearable yoke?

      Future Studies

What about the laws of retribution such as stoning, etc.?
